Terry Fox

In 1980, he began the Marathon of Hope, a cross-country run to raise money for cancer-research. Terry Fox hoped to raise one dollar for each of Canadian's 24 million people. He started with a little fanfare from St. John's, Newfoundland in April and ran the equivalent of a full marathon each day. He was forced to end his run outside of Thunder Bay when the cancer spread to his lungs. His hopes of overcoming the disease and completing his marathon ended when he died nine months later. Do you think Terry Fox had a lot of Perseverance in him because he ran almost all around ontario for Cancer Research then died doing it because of his cancer? Explain.

  1. I think Terry Fox definitly had Perseverance. At a very young age he got his leg amputated and instead of letting that get him down or it becoming depressing in Terry's life, he ran a marathin in hope for other people. Although his death was obviously a sad one, it shows how willing he was to Persevere and try to raise money even though he was sick himself.
